Class 4L 2019 - 2020

Mrs Irlam

WELCOME to CLASS 4L

Everyone in Class 4L Have all made a great start to year 4 in 2019

Welcome to Class 4L

The Autumn term has started very well with the whole class including Miss Irlam looking forward to enjoying year 4.

All of the class have been keen to get into learning and developing our focus on taking personal responsibilty. Now the children our all in year 4 and established members of key stage 2 they are growing up into independent young people able to play an active part in their own learning drive.

We are already organising our trays and daily equipment, remembering our reading books and taking responsibilty to record home reading. I am realily pleased how well everyone in coming in and sorting theor coats and bags without a fuss, SUPER!

This term will see year 4 investigate The Romans and their life in Britain. We will also be considering the impact they have had on ourlives today. This is a great topic to start the year with lots of interesting learning.

Did you Know, many Roman homes had a picture of a guard dog near the front door (usually made of mosaic pieces) The words 'CAVE CANEM' meant 'Beware of the dog' - to scare off burglars!  Does this sound familiar?

Ask an adult to listen to you read every week, ideally every night but atleast three times a week.

Remember to write your book title and the pages read in your record and bring it to school to collect your house points.

Along side your home reading book we will also be studying and reading other books and texts in class, to build a range of reading skills. If you finish your book make sure you tell Miss Irlam and then choose a new book.
